Five injured in bakkie-truck collision
'Patients were treated for their injuries and thereafter transported to Carletonville Hospital.'
Five people were left injured after a bakkie and truck collided at the R501 and R559 intersection just 8km outside Carletonville on Thursday morning.
According to ER24 spokepserson Russel Meiring, “Paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene and found both the truck and bakkie parked on the side of the road. The front right of the bakkie had sustained a large amount of damage in the collision.
“On assessment, paramedics found that five occupants that had been travelling in the back of the vehicle had sustained minor to moderate injuries.
“Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to Carletonville Hospital for further medical treatment.”
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
