21 people were injured when a bakkie rolled multiple times at the Lion Park Road intersection near Lanseria on Sunday.
According to Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, “Paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene and found the bakkie far off into the veld, some distance away from the road.
“When paramedics assessed the scene, they found that 21 people had been travelling in and on the bakkie when the driver apparently lost control, causing the vehicle to roll multiple times.
“A triage area was set up so that emergency personnel could effectively assess and treat the patients.
“21 patients, including the driver, were found to have sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious. Fortunately no-one had sustained any fatal injury in the collision.
“The patients were treated and stabilized on scene before they were transported to various hospitals for urgent medical attention.”
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
