Municipality to the rescue

Stinky sewage pipe unblocked within 12 hours.

PR Councillor for Ward 2, Gerhard Kruger came across a blocked sewerage pipe in Kocksoord and reported it. To his surprise, it was fixed within hours of the complaint being lodged.

The pipe is located a few metres from the train tracks to the left of the silos in Kocksoord. According to Kruger, the pipe becomes blocked often and the sewage runs into a fresh water stream. The stream, he said, most probably runs all the way to Westonaria.

The sewage spilled into the water at a high rate and caused an unbelievable stink; fortunately there are no houses nearby.

“Thanks to good service delivery, the issue was resolved,” Kruger concluded.
