Breaking News: Father allegedly murders 5-year-old daughter
'The suspect allegedly also tried to commit suicide' — Police.
Police have taken a 29-year-old man into custody following the murder of a 5-year-old girl.
“Police were called out to a scene in Aureus, Randfontein on Wednesday (10 June) at approximately 9.40pm. Upon arrival they were shown the body of a 5-year-old victim,” said Captain Appel Ernst, spokesperson for the Randfontein Police.
“The suspect was also on the scene and arrested. It is alleged that the 5-year-old girl was murdered and that the suspect allegedly also tried to commit suicide,” Ernst added.
The suspect is expected to appear in Randfontein Magistrates court on 12 June.
