Jasmine, 13, a blooming flower from Toekies

'It does not matter where you come from, it matters where you are going to.'

Jasmine Thyssen, 13, who was crowned Miss Pre Teen Gauteng 2014 in October now puts all her energy into charity work.

She said the moment she was crowned as Miss Pre Teen Gauteng 2014, “I could not believe it because it was such a big pageant.”

Jasmine’s talent reaches far beyond just a pretty face, where she wants to study to become a Pilot Engineer. She is a person that thoroughly believes that inner beauty is more important than outer beauty and her sound advise to girls who want to participate in beauty pageants is to always have faith in themselves.

Jasmine also makes time for netball when she is not busy doing charity and school work. Her motto in life is “It does not matter where you come from, it matters where you are going to – so never let your situation get you down.”

Jasmine added, “God is her biggest inspiration because he can make anything possible.” Jasmine is currently planning to do charity work at a house she has in mind for Mandela day where she will mingle with the community and meet different families.

When asked who she would love to sit around a table with, her answer was Jaden Smith, Winnie Mandela and William Ernest Henley.
