Car a write-off in three vehicle collision

Overtaking allegedly leads to head-on collision.

A motor vehicle collision involving three vehicles in Randgate on Friday night occurred without any serious or fatal injuries despite the wreckage of the vehicles.

It has been alleged that a red car overtook a white car on Malan Street when a blue combi turned into Malan from van Devender Street and collided head-on with the overtaking red car.

The bumper of the red car could still be seen stuck onto the combi even after the car was towed away due to the force of the impact.

Quick Response Services (QRS), the Fire Department, as well as a provincial ambulance were on scene but luckily there were no injuries.

It has been further alleged that a driver was arrested on scene for drunk driving however, this has not been confirmed by police.

Police have been approached for comment and their comment is awaited on the matter.
