Thank you — Eskom

Power giant shows its appreciation.

Eskom thanked its customers for their patience and support in using electricity sparingly.

This after there was no need to implement load shedding on Thursday. It seems also unlikely there will be load shedding today (Friday 29 May).

The power giant in an official statement stated late on Friday, “There is currently no planned load shedding as Eskom has enough generating capacity to meet the demand.

“Eskom is pleased to announce that we were able to go through Thursday’s morning and evening peak demand periods without having to go into load shedding thereby averting load shedding for the day.

“We would like to thank our customers for their patience and support in using electricity sparingly during the early morning and evening peak periods. Every little bit of savings goes a long way in assisting us to manage the demand and supply of electricity and to eliminate load shedding.

“In winter the electricity demand peaks in the morning and evening as more electricity is used during these times. We appeal to all our customers to continue to reduce their electricity usage throughout the day but to be aware of the need to save more during the peak periods from 6am to 10am and 5pm to 9pm.”

Eskom will provide regular updates on the status of the power system through all the media platforms.
