RPA Sop and Sherry event motivates members

Never quit when times get tough and load shedding costing SA were some of the topics discussed.

It was all about motivation when the Randfontein Publicity Association (RPA) held their monthly networking session at the Randfontein Golf Club on Thursday 21 May.

Guest speaker for the evening was Klippies Kritzinger, vice chairman of the Vanderbijlpark Business Chamber and host Ds Johan van der Merwe from the Lewende Nuwe Generasie Kerk who treated members to delicious soup and sherry.

Some of the members who attended included André Killian from Mad Entertainment; Mapule Masetle from Shared Victory Centre; Douw Mans from Elite Debt Counselling; Martie Erasmus from De La Mart Beauty Salon; Craig Coombe from CKM alarms; Roy Harris from Roy Harris Estates; Rita Potter from Rettop Auctioneers; Abri Erasmus from Afrisam, Amanda van Zyl from the Herald; Denette Westraadt from Get it Magazine; RPA chairman Roy Harris; Jacques van der Sandt and Armandt Keyser from Battery Centre.

Klippies discussed the secrets to success for small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs).

He said communication is of the utmost importance in one’s business and showed a video with the message that one never should quit when things get difficult. He also quoted various statistics on ethnic groups and population, and mentioned how much load shedding is costing South Africa.

A special thanks was given to Mike van Deventer (All out Pest Control) for his generous donation towards the Winter Charity Drive. Members also were thanked for their cash commitments. Mapule Masetle from Shared Victory Centre will be leaving the RPA as she is going to work at Unisa, but said she definitely will renew her RPA membership once her Unisa contact expires.

The Winter Charity Drive commences on Friday 5 June and donations of blankets, tinned and non-perishable foods can be dropped off at the RPA office from Monday to Friday during office hours. Cash donations that will be used to buy blankets and food are also welcome.
