South Africans will be treated to a display of some of the most beautiful, powerful and expensive motoring machines on the planet when the famous motoring presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May visits South Africa this June.
From 12 to 14 June the trio bring fans ranging from car-crazy petrol heads to families to corporate clients, the all new Clarkson, Hammond and May Live event at the Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg.

Special guest Ken Block is joining the fun and bringing with him his incredible ‘Hoonicorn’ – this 845bhp, four-wheel-drive, 1965 ‘Notchback’ Ford Mustang is a sight to see and Ken will be on hand giving a visual demonstration of exactly how a four-wheel-drive Ford Mustang lays down its power. It will certainly be something that South African audiences have never witnessed before.
When asked what inspired the creation of the Hoonicorn, Ken responded, “I really wanted to do something different. So I had this idea of wanting to take the all-wheel-drive system and put it into something unusual.
“I thought about all sorts of different cars that we could do this to, from trucks, to different Ford vehicles like old Mavericks, but the Mustang is such an iconic car. Once I had decided on the Mustang, I found the model and year I really liked that was really simple and tough, with a mix of styling that I really wanted to do – a mix of WRC and DTM and Hot Wheels. The notchback ‘65 really fit that story. I’m really happy the way it turned out”.

Ken Block’s ‘Hoonicorn’ is just one of many incredible cars to salivate over at this year’s show – with a special celebration of 50 years of Italian Supercars including an eye-popping number of Lamborghini’s and Ferrari’s representing.
The producers of the show are keeping it hush-hush and have only let on that we can expect an Italian Supercar Orchestra to play out, using the glorious noises produced by the classic Lamborghini Miura, the sharply angled Countach, the glorious Diablo and Murcielago, and what’s a Lambo-feast without the current flagship Aventador? An orchestra of engines, what more can any petrol head want!
Ferrari fans will be happy to know that nearly a dozen of the most famous and revered Ferraris will be showcased at Clarkson, Hammond & May Live. The impressive list includes the Dino, the 308 GTB, Testarossa, F12 Berlinetta and many, many more, in what producers are affectionately dubbing the “CarPorn” part of the show.
The final Ferrari on the list is the F40. This mid-engine, rear wheel drive, two-door coupe sports car was built to celebrate 40 years of the Italian marque and was the last automobile to be personally approved by Enzo Ferrari. Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond both refer to the F40 as the “greatest supercar the world has ever seen’.
