Child, 9, knocked over by vehicle
‘Driver transported the injured girl to a nearby medical facility.’
A nine-year-old-girl was seriously injured following a pedestrian accident in Skierlik Section, Bekkersdal on Monday.
Reports from the scene indicate that the girl was crossing the road when she was knocked over by a motor vehicle. The driver of the motor vehicle then transported the injured girl to a nearby medical facility for further care.
According to Netcare 911 spokesperson, Santi Steinmann, “Paramedics were called to the medical facility to assist with the injured girl. Upon assessment of the young girl, paramedics found that she had sustained serious injuries during the pedestrian accident.
“The young girl was treated at the scene and transported to hospital for the urgent medical care that she required.
“Exact detail surrounding the pedestrian accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.”
