A social experiment on child abduction shows that children are very likely to follow a total stranger.
The following video was posted on YouTube by Joey Salads, who has gained popularity for his filmed pranks on the social media website, on 2 May.
In it he talks to mothers at a park after which he engages with their children using a puppy as a decoy. All the children in the video follow him, some even taking his hand, after he promises to show them more puppies somewhere else.
The mothers were left in shock.

Missing Children SA on their website state that, according to figures released by the South African Police Service (Saps) Missing Persons Bureau in 2013, a child goes missing every five hours in South Africa.
This adds up to 1697 children a year.
How have you equipped your child for similar situations? Would he or she fall for Salads’ social experiment if it were conducted in South Africa?
