Another Homfeyr captures the town’s heart

Armand Hofmeyr appears for special mother's day celebration.

Armand Hofmeyr, son of the South African music sensation Steve Hofmeyr appeared in Randfontein for a very special mother’s day celebration at The Legend recently.

Randfonteiners gathered in their numbers to see the talented and good looking singer. A crowd of young and old filled the venue and anxiously awaited Armand’s appearance. There was hardly any place to walk towards the stage as people came early to get the best spot.

Armand made his entry and up he went on stage when the crowd went wild. Armand, like his father, knows exactly what to do to entertain a crowd and most of his songs were interactive. He walked around and got people to sing at their tables.

It wasn’t long before four elderly women were called to do backup dancing for him on the stage with Armand as the lead dancer. The men did not get off as easy as they thought as they were also called up to the stage to play as an air band for the boere musiek backtrack that was playing. One was on the guitar, the other on the drums and the last man had to air-play the concertina.

Fans enjoyed the music so much that those standing outside for a quick smoke were seen ‘sokkie-ing’ with each other in the parking lot.

It was just before 5pm when Armand had to end the show but people in the crowd shouted for an encore and Armand obliged the crowd.

Time past and after a few songs Armand bid a goodbye to Randfonteiners in the crowd and all the mothers.
