Bus collision leaves man’s leg amputated

Man one of four people injured in total.

Four people were injured when a bus and a light motor vehicle collided on the R559 approximately 12 km from Carletonville early on Friday.

According to ER24 spokesperson, Pieter Rossouw, “There was allegedly five passengers in the bus and the light motor vehicle allegedly drove away after the incident.

“One of these patients were critically injured. The critically injured patient’s leg was amputated in the collision.

“When paramedics arrived on scene they found that the critical patient had lost a large amount of blood. They treated the patient and transported him to Leslie Williams Hospital for urgent treatment.

“Once the patient was stable he was then airlifted by another service from Leslie Williams Hospital to Milpark Hospital for further treatment.

“The cause of the collision is still unknown. Local authorities were on scene for investigation.”
