Men’s Movement to march against abuse

A local NPO looks to create awareness by marching the streets against abuse.

The Men’s Movement in South Africa will march against gender-based violence and ongoing violence against the elderly and the disabled in Mohlakeng on Friday 8 May.

They urge residents to join them.

Men’s Movement in South Africa is a non-profit organisation (NPO) that protects the rights of and promote the interests of specific groups of people such as the physically handicapped, the elderly, children and women.

“The march is to create awareness in the public at large to be vigilant and speak out against abusers of our society. It is also to extend a helping hand to give hope to victims. We care for the well-being of our communities,” Moses Mkonza, Chairperson of the Men’s Movement in South Africa said.

The march will start at the Mohlakeng Stadium and people will then walk through Lembede Street, Ralerata Street and will end at Four Square in Mohlakeng.

The movement are also pleading with the community or possible sponsors to assist them with donations for the day.

Donations can be in the form of:
• 15 yellow T-shirts
• 30 500ml bottles of water
• 3 boxes of biscuits
