Lance James blows Randfontein away

The gospel and country singing sensation, Lance James, serenaded Randfontein.

The gospel and country singing sensation, Lance James wowed Randfontein with the smooth sounds of his voice accompanied with his signature cowboy shirt and hat on Sunday.

Customers gathered at The Legend in Culemborg park — which should not be mistaken for the Three Legends or Grill Master — waiting for James to arrive.

Some customers went to the venue early and ordered food but told waiters that they will be moving closer to the state as soon as James goes on stage.

The time had finally arrived when James casually walked in. Chatting to fans as they passed by. Customers were jittery and excited about hearing the man they listened to as children perform live.

The first song began and immediately the crowd started singing together in joyous nostalgia. It wasn’t long before James began to walk around the restaurant and in between tables, posing for photos.

James performed all the classics and had the crowd swinging from side to side trying to remember the lyrics of the songs.

Women were serenaded and so were babies in their mother’s arms. At a point, James began singing The Rarest Flower when he gave a very lucky Wilma Freidag a red rose after which she blushed.

When James took a small break, owner of the restaurant, Pieter Engelbrecht surprised the crowd with a smooth voice of his own so instead of the crowd having one entertainer with their Sunday lunch, they were blown away by two.
