BREAKING NEWS: Victim hunts down burglar

Police arrest one suspect.

On Wednesday afternoon an unknown number of suspects targeted the wrong resident as he allegedly gave chase following an attempted housebreaking in Culemborg Park.

The car chase later resulted in a car crash in Mohlakeng on Ralerata Street.

According to Zaheer Gangat, chairperson of the Randfontein CPF executive committee “The suspects (travelling in a Sentra) tried to make a u-turn and crashed into an unfortunate oncoming car (Ford).”

It is believed the victim (travelling in an unknown car) fled the scene in fear for his life as the community was approaching him.

According to Tessa Viljoen, medic at Quick Response Services (QRS), “A towing company was busy towing the Sentra when we got on scene and the driver of the Ford was assessed by myself and I found no serious injuries – just stiffness in right shoulder.”

Randfontein police spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst confirmed “One suspect has been arrested for attempted housebreaking – he was involved in the accident.”
