Ben Morgenrood helps Save A Child

'Save A Child has helped us tremendously throughout the years. We do not know how we would have coped without their constant support’ – Piet Bensch.

An NPO that supports and financially assists mentally disabled children and their families has become the latest beneficiary of the Ben Morgenrood Group.

The NPO, Save A Child currently supports around 80 mentally disabled people and their families in Krugersdorp and Randfontein.

One of the children, Angelique Roos, 14, has been receiving help from them since 2004. Angelique was born mentally disabled and can’t do anything for herself. It is up to her mother, Colette Bensch and grandparents to feed, clothe, bath and watch Angelique at all times.

“Save A Child has helped us tremendously throughout the years. We do not know how we would have coped without their support,” said Piet Bensch, Angelique’s grandfather.

Boet Jonk who oversees operations at Save A Child relies heavily on his hard-working team, consisting of the telesales women and the people doing the collection work.

One of the essential links in the chain is Louise Bouwer who does the bookings for Save A Child from the old age home she lives in.

Another essential member is Josh Russow, their courier who makes sure all the donations are picked up and distributed where needed.

The Ben Morgenrood Group recently decided to help the organisation with amongst other things, diapers for children and adults and a new sign for their office on 103 Human Street, Krugersdorp. The diapers were bought with money donated by Randfontein Panelbeaters, also part of the Ben Morgenrood Group.

Maryna Lütt, dealer principal at Ben Morgenrood and the initiator of the feeding and charity project also approached Expand A Sign from Kyalami to brand a new large gazebo and banners for Save A Child.

They went above and beyond, providing Save A Child with a top-of-the-range gazebo, branded with the organisation name, and two freestanding banners. The gazebo had to be couriered from Durban to Kyalami and was delivered personally by Theo Lütt, Expand A Sign’s operations manger.

Print-A-Sign produced the name board for the office free of charge and André Herbst from DIY Motors put up the sign.

The signs, gazebo, banners and diapers all were handed over to Save A Child last week (2 April).
