W’aria mayor cares for businesses

The Westonaria Local Municipality held a business networking session recently where it was said that small and medium sized businesses and industries are the backbone of all economies.

In Mayor Nonkoliso Tundzi-Hawu’s speech at the networking session she stated “I would like to take this opportunity to reach out to the Business Community present and invite you to become even more involved in Westonaria affairs so that together, we can effectively deal with the problems and challenges that lie ahead, not only to us as a municipality, but also to better support the small and medium sized enterprises that are so important.

“Small and medium sized businesses and industries ensure job creation and longstanding economic growth. We would like to see the private sector, organisations of civil society, the community at large and government continuing to work together in partnership.

“In this Town we have said, over and over again that government working alone and in isolation will never adequately address all the challenges that face us,” said Tundzi-Hawu.

She said that reaching out and building relationships is an essential part of Westonaria’s mission.
