A family of four is said to be traumatised after they were attacked in their home by at least four suspects over the weekend.
Robbie Dercksen, branch manager of Special Operations Solutions (SOS) who saw the incident on CCTV footage and who is a neighbour of the family said, “The CPF posted the video footage in their group and we went to the scene. By the time we got there, the suspects were already gone. The victims said there were four suspects.”
Dercksen said there was a man, woman and their two children in the house at the time of the incident. The suspects allegedly took property from the house. Dercksen said the family gave descriptions of the suspects and a response car was sent out to look for the suspects. Two suspects with knives in their possession were apprehended and identified positively by the victims.
“The victims identified the suspects and we also called the police to do a proper identification. Police later arrested the two suspects,” Dercksen said.
The herald is awaiting official comment from the Randfontein Police regarding the incident.
