First family member in two generations to reach 70
Three additional birthdays in the family also on the same day.
Resident Laban Tiki Phake who has reached the age of 70 on Sunday 8 March became the only one in two generations to do so.
Sadly, both generations before Laban passed away before reaching the age of 70 – making his birthday a special event for the Phake family.
On that auspicious day, it was also Laban’s sister-in-law, Yvonne Phake’s birthday as well as his nephew Phillip Phake and cousin Paulos Phake.
Mavis Kirton travelled all the way from Lancaster, England to attend this special birthday. Approximately 80 guests who came from far and wide attended the event.
