Robbie, BlackByrd wows crowd

Showgoers were blown away by top class performances by household names in South African music.

It was entertainment out of this world when BlackByrd and the one and only Robbie Wessels took to the stage on day four of the Randfontein Show.

Blackbyrd wowed the crowed with their smooth-sounding folk music and vocals. A member of the crowed was called onto the stage to be part of the show and boy was it a show. The smoking hot music trio danced, moved their hips, and flicked their hair around the young Barend Bothma who was sitting on a chair in the middle of the stage. Later, he participated in the hip-swinging and hair flicking.

Prior to the show, Bothma posted this on Twitter:

He got more than just to see them live, he met and danced with them on stage!

Later, the headline act, Robbie Wessels made a superstar entrance on the stage and kicked the show off with with Bokkoors (eye of the tiger) and the crowd went wild.

It wasn’t long before he whipped out his trustee guitar and wowed the crowed with his guitar skills that accompanied his gutsy Afrikaans vocals. Sweat poured from Wessels by the time he went into the Ballard part of his show. He showed residents that there is a different side of Robbie. “In between all the Bokkoors and Leeuloop, I did, you know, write a few deep songs. Just a few,” said Wessels jokingly behind the mic and proceeded to wow the crowed with his soft-side.

Alas, it was time for the show to end and every person sitting in the Vodacom Marquee waited with baited breath for the famous Leeuloop. Show-goers were almost giving up at the idea as the lights on the stage went dim almost as though Wessels was ready to leave the stage. From out of nowhere, the famous or rather infamous Leeuloop began to play.

Wessels’ shirt was wet from all the carido on stage and women in the crowed went wild when his famous move was done throughout the Leeuloop. It was a show not to be missed and the cheering after he went off the stage resonated in every square foot of the Show grounds.
