Load shedding expected today

'System constrained' — Eskom.

According to Khulu Phasiwe from the Eskom Media Desk, “As we speak, the system is currently confined. There is a high likelihood of load shedding today.”

Phasiwe says the reason for this is “There is not enough generating capacity for the demand. Right now we have some capacity to meet the demand but the demand usually goes up as the day progresses especially when people get home from work.”

This means for now, the time of load shedding is to be announced at a later stage during the day.
