Seven days to meet EFF demands almost up

Hints of another protest mentioned on twitter, West Rand EFF denies allegation.

The allocated seven days given to the Randfontein municipality by the West Rand Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) are ticking away fast.

Wednesday 11 February will be a week since the EFF memorandum with demands was handed over and violent protests ripped through Mohlakeng.

There have been Twitter posts from Mohlakeng residents talking about more protest actions on Wednesday 11 February but according to Kholeka Mandyu, West Rand EFF Communication officer, it is only rumours and no plans for more protest actions have been made.

The West Rand EFF will sit on Tuesday, 10 February to discuss further actions and plans if the municipality does not comply with their deadline.

The herald will keep residents updated on the situation.

The little birdie.
The little birdie.

The tweet reads: “another strike on Wednesday? We are tired of the administration of Randfontein F** maan. We are doing this for the people.”
