Rand View honours its educators

'We are a team and united we stand, but divided we fall'.

Rand View College held their awards ceremony during the week to reward its top-performing educators.

The ceremony was opened with prayer and then the school’s choir sang a beautiful song that touched everybody’s hearts.

In his speech, principal Shepherd Chehwehwete said, “I want to congratulate the educators who did well last year. This year you must strive to do better and raise the bar even further. The educators who were not rewarded today should not feel that they are not appreciated.

“We are a team and united we stand, but divided we fall. A wise man once said that a 1 000 mile journey starts with a single step and today is that first step to a wonderful future for Rand View College.”

The audience then voiced their excitement about the new prefects to be announced. When their names were called out they looked and felt like rock stars.

Then the six educators were called to the stage one by one to receive their certificates of appreciation for their outstanding work during 2014.

They are:

• Paul Mwondla – Business Studies

• Shepherd Chehwehwete – English

• Mtalika Phiri – Tourism

• Brian Makwanya – Maths and Literacy

• Doreen Mbeiza – Life Sciences

• Phosisi Modiege – Life Orientation
