Fourth suspect arrested for Titus’ murder

Case postponed to Thursday for bail application.

A fourth person has been arrested in connection with the murder of Mohlakeng resident Lucky Titus.

The death of Titus sparked outrage in Mohlakeng late last year and residents took justice into their own hands to find the responsible party.

It was alleged by Titus’ mother Cynthia Titus that he was kidnapped and tortured by their neighbour. According to her, he was not the only one that was kidnapped. She stated that three other men were kidnapped around the same time he was.

A body was found a few days after his disappearance in Carletonville when police confirmed that the man was in fact Lucky Titus. According to his mother and the police, the body was found on a railway line in Carletonville. Titus’ mother states that his hands and feet were bound when he was found on the tracks.

Subsequently, police proceeded to investigate a case of murder and arrested three men suspected of his murder.

The court case has since been in the Randfontein Magistrates Court and recently was handed over to the Regional Court.

The case has been postponed to Thursday 29 January for a bail application.
