Police warn cellphone shop owners to be vigilant around closing time.
This after a recent robbery at a small business in the Randfontein CBD.
According to Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson, “A small cellphone shop in Main Reef Road was targeted by three unknown men.
“The men waited until about 6.30pm when they entered the shop under the pretense of buying something.
“Once inside the shop, one of the men took out a firearm and threatened the shop owner. The men fled the scene in a VW sedan with the shop owner’s belongings.
“No shots were fired and the shop owner did not sustain any injuries.”
Warrant Officer Karen Nel, the investigating officer can be contacted on 011 278 8100 with any information that might assist her in the investigation.
Shop owners in the CBD are urged to be careful around closing time and should report any suspicious behaviour to the police.
