Four-vehicle crash leaves a mess

One passenger in shock, two others transported to hospital as a precaution.

The morning traffic was somewhat disrupted when four cars collided at the Uncle Harry’s Roadhouse intersection around 7.30am on Thursday.

Traffic officials, Emergency Service personnel and the Fire Department quickly arrived on scene to move the vehicles out of oncoming cars and direct traffic.

None of the eight people involved in the accident were seriously injured with just Jennifer Kgegwe, a passenger of Kori sustaining a severe bump to the head and was in shock. QRS Ambulance Services transported two of the patients to Lenmed Hospital just for precautionary measures while the Gauteng Emergency Medical Services transported Kgegwe after she was deemed stable.
According to one of the motorists Thabo Kori, he was travelling on the R28 on his way to Luipaardsvlei when he realized the lights were red.

“I tried to stop but my vehicle started swerving to the left and there was nothing I could do to avoid the other car turning.”

Another motorist, Karl Meiring explained he was turning right onto the R28 from Homestead Avenue when Kori’s vehicle (Ford Fiesta) collided into his vehicle (a Reunalt Sandero). The momentum of the impact then pushed Meiring’s car into two other cars waiting for the green light.
