Toekomsrus to be without power for 11 hours

Randfontein Local Municipality has issued a notice for the power interruption that will occur on Thursday in the Toekomsrus area.

The supply will be cut on all premises in the Toekomsrus and its extensions from 7am to 6pm. The reason for the interruption is to perform maintenance work on the Toekomsrus main switching station.

The notice states that all electrical installations should be treated as being live which means that if residents come across wiring, they are to treat it as live and should therefore not touch or tamper with it.

Bongani Nkambule from infrastructure in the municipality apologizes for the inconvenience however it is necessary.
