Man declares war on birds

'I don't care' — shooter allegedly tells complainant.

A man in West Porges has been reported to the Randfontein SPCA for allegedly shooting birds with a pellet gun.

Fred Abbott, the man who reported the incident, stated that the man who shot the birds, “Wasn’t phased when I confronted him.

“He said it is none of my business and as long as he is not shooting people then he doesn’t care.”

The pellet gun in question is a large rifle that is allegedly used on small pigeons that are left in the street to rot.

“All you see is birds everywhere. Those birds didn’t do anything to anyone,” Abbott said.

The SPCA is currently investigating the matter and states that it is unlawful to discharge any air gun in a residential area besides the moral implications of shooting harmless birds.

Abbott is in the process of drawing up an affidavit to verify seeing the crime and reporting it.
