Job opportunities for 16 000 Gauteng youth

‘16 000 youth have the opportunity to kick start their careers’.

Sixteen thousand unemployed youth will be given the opportunity to find employment this year thanks to a partnership between Afrika Tikkun Services and Shared Wealth Africa.

Application opportunities will take place in Diepsloot, Alexandra, Orange Farm, Braamfontein, East Rand, Pretoria and Soweto through the course of next week.

“These jobs will be spread across the Gauteng area within the food and hospitality industry,” explains Yaqeen Turton, Head of Shared Wealth Africa.

“All candidates will be assessed before embarking on a three month employee developmental plan with jobs beginning in May. Candidates who display advanced capabilities will be considered for entry level posts at the company’s head office.”

A road show kicks off on 19 January 2015 in Gauteng to source the candidates. Those interested in applying can visit any of the venue activations listed below with their identity document, CV and any qualifications they have in hand.

• Diepsloot – Afrika Tikkun (Wings of Life Centre) – Monday 19 January 9am
• Alexandra – Afrika Tikkun (Phutaditjaba Centre) – Monday 19 January 12 noon
• Orange Farm – Afrika Tikkun (Arekopaneng Centre) – Tuesday 20 January 9am
• Braamfontein – Afrika Tikkun (Uthando) – Tuesday 20 January 12 noon
• East Rand – Chris Hani Crossing – Wednesday 22 January 12 noon
• Pretoria – Tangerine Computer Centre, 266 Tangerine Street Laudium– Friday 23 January 10am
• Soweto (White City) – Ipelegeng Community Centre – Satuday 24 January 10am
Graduates from the organisations’ career readiness and skills development programmes will also be registered.

Afrika Tikkun Services is a social enterprise which has made tangible strides in enabling youth skills development and opportunity placement. Through its partnership with local NGO Afrika Tikkun, Afrika Tikkun Services has an established footprint in five South African communities across two provinces and has had over a thousand graduates to skills development programmes since its inception 18 months ago.

Shared Wealth Africa is a Non-Profit Organization that provides Career Development and Wellness Development services to the previously disadvantaged sectors of our communities and community programs.
