EFF murder: Members angry after court proceedings

EFF members' murder case docket allegedly goes missing; turns out to have been an administrative fault.

After the murder of EFF member Monde Kweyama, members of the EFF attended court hearings of the man accused of murdering him.

The first court date was set for the 31st of December 2014 which was then postponed to 8 January for a bail hearing.

During the 8 January court appearance, the EFF members and family members of Kweyama were allegedly told that the case’s docket vanished.

This according to Kweyama’s sister-in-law, Raylene Martin.

After the court proceedings, Kweyama’s family members, friends and fellow EFF members took to the streets and walked to Randfontein Police Station where they demanded answers. Police then directed them to the detective office in order to retrieve the docket there after which it was found. The reason for it’s disappearance was said to be an administrative fault.

The case was ultimately remanded until the 15th of January and family members and the EFF state that they will show their support during the court proceedings to follow.
