'Husband arrested and charged for the murder' — police.
Police arrested the husband of a 38-year-old woman who was found dead on Christmas morning.
According to Krugersdorp Cluster Commander Major General A Mateisi, “The eldest daughter alerted neighbours around 7am that morning when she could not wake her mother.”
Police say the couple had a domestic quarrel.
The husband of the deceased was arrested on the scene and charged for murder as witnesses indicated to police that the husband assaulted her viciously the previous night.
The Krugersdorp Cluster is also proud to announce various successes over the festive weekend.
According to Mateisi, police officers attended to numerous incidents including serious crimes such as murder, armed robberies and rapes.
“Thanks to quick reaction and proper investigation by police on the scenes, 278 arrests were made, which included one for murder, 72 for assault, 17 for theft and 29 for possession of drugs and dagga.
“Unlicensed firearms, ammunition and other stolen property were confiscated and arrests made during stop-and-search procedures.”
