In the spirit of the festive season, the ANC West Rand would like to extend seasons greeting to Randfontein and wish them a prosperous 2015 following the ANC’s goals for the year to come.
“We end 2014 fully conscious that it was a remarkable year indeed as we move forward, deepen democracy and continue to improve the lives of our people,” Mzi Elias Khumalo from the communications unit of the ANC West Rand said.
The ANC wishes to thank the people of West Rand for their contribution to the peaceful and dignified general elections that were held earlier this year.
The past year also marked the inauguration of the Gauteng provincial administration under the leadership of Premier David Makhura who adopted a 10 pillar programme to radically change and modernise our province in the years to come.
The 12th ANC Gauteng Provincial and the 9th ANC West Rand Regional Conference were also held during 2014. Both were focused on the bettering of the lives of people in Gauteng.
In addition to this, it was the year where the Randfontein-Westonaria merger was announced as well as plans to turn the two together into a metropolitan municipality.
“As we close this year, the ANC is also looking forward to celebrate 103 years of our existence as we continuously advance to make South Africa a better place,” Khumalo said proudly.
