An 18-year-old was killed when the vehicle he travelled in collided into a tree near the intersection of Dolomite and Kaolin Streets in Carletonville on Monday night.
According to ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak, “Paramedics that arrived on the scene found a Nissan Sentra ripped into two pieces when it collided with a tree.
“They [paramedics] found the young male still trapped in the vehicle. Unfortunately there was nothing they could do for him and he was declared dead on the scene.
“The local fire department had to use hydraulic rescue equipment to free his body from the vehicle.
“The exact cause of the incident is not yet known. The incident was handed over to local authorities for further investigation.”
