There are five games that will keep you busy throughout Christmas.

Whether it is to escape those dreaded chores that family dish out during the festive season or maybe just to get away from family all together.

• Number five: InFamous First Light. inFamous is a well known open world action-adventure platformer. It is part of a popular series; infamous, infamous 2, inFamous: Festival of Blood, infamous: Second Son and lastly infamous First Light.

The game starts with Fetch locked away for being a super powered human and she is forced to re-live tragedies from her past. She sets out to unravel her dark secret in Seattle while battling to escape snowy Curdun Cay to carry out her vengeance.

• Number four; Alien: Isolation. The Alien series was originally a first person shooter that makes a poor attempt to re-enact an almost unrecognisable film from the series.

Isolation has been received much better by fans. The only snag is that the game is now made as a first person stealth.

The up side is that the game follows the original Alien story line and gamers get to experience the world as Ripley.

• Number three; Wolfenstein New Order. Wolfenstein is the Godfather of first person shooters and was one of the first FPSs ever made.

The game has been received well with the older crowd for obvious nostalgic reasons. All the favourite things are back and are better.

• Number two; Watch Dogs. Watch Dogs was one of the best received games of 2014.

The game is a third person open world action adventure. It was received so well because the game idea is new and hi-tech. In the game players have a chance to be Aiden Pearce who is a pro-hacker with a criminal record.

Players get to hack into various things and monitor people’s lives. With the online side of the game, players can freely hack other players.

• The number one spot goes to Borderlands Pre Sequel.

The game is not a third Borderlands as was expected but rather took the form of an in between story on how everything happened with the bad guys.

The game boasts more than 17.75 million guns which earned them a spot in the Guinness World Record Book for the most guns in a video game with its last offering; Borderlands 2.
