Traffic police, military pray together

Traffic Department and SANDF keep their troops motivated.

Randfontein Traffic Department officers and Randfontein Military Base officials on Friday prayed together for a peaceful festive season and 2015.

“We decided to get the department together to pray for their safety throughout the December Festive season. We also want to motivate the soldiers for next year and thank each and every one of them for the selfless and dangerous service they bring to the people of our town,” Kenny Mampondo, Chief of Traffic Police in Randfontein said.

After a meaningful message from Father Moloi from the Anglican Church, MMC for Public Safety, Councillor Brenda Mahuma was given the floor.

She made apologies for the Mayor who could not attend the event and told the men and women how proud the Mayor was of them.

“The honoroble Mayor has been longing to shake each and every one’s hand here and say thank you for the dangerous work they do every day. As a councillor I know how much we rely on your services and have always been able to count on the Traffic department to keep us safe.” Cllr Brenda said.

It was then the turn of Dr. Ngwenya from the JMPD and Rev. Thabalaka from the SANDF (South African National Defence Force’s) 21st Battalion to motivate officers and soldiers.
