16 Days of Activism concluded

Its main aim is to create awareness.

Westonaria Police concluded its 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children campaign on Wednesday (10 December).

Police officers not only went out into the streets to create awareness and educate people about what the campaign is all about, they also visited schools in the area handing out flyers.

The initiative, which ran from 25 November, is an annual campaign run by the South African Government and the Gauteng Department of Community Safety that aims to increase awareness about the impact of violence on women and children.

It also aims to mobilise society to act against abuse in any form.
