Collision causes chain of destruction

Heavy rain and one man's condition to blame for accident.

One person’s fault allegedly resulted in a three vehicle collision on the corner of 10th Street and Village Streeton Monday.

At the herald’s arrival on scene three vehicles were damaged, however, none of the people involved sustained serious injuries.

According to eyewitnesses and drivers of the two other vehicles, Davis Baloyi and Marnis Wright “It was the third motorist who had skipped the stop street they were all near to that caused a chain reaction of destruction.”

They explained to the herald that the man skipped the stop street and drove in front of Baloyi’s bakkie who in turn hit the man’s car. The man that skipped the stop street then swerved and hit Wright’s car that was innocently parked at the stop street, waiting for her right of way to go.

The man that skipped the stop street claims to not have seen the bakkie due to heavy rain. When asked if Baloyi had his lights on, the man said yes. In addition to this, the man – who refuses to be named – has muscular dystrophy.

He claims that his condition had nothing to do with the crash and that him having an automatic helps with his condition. He further claims that he has a special license however, proof of this was not provided.
