Father Christmas visits R’fontein Preschoolers

St Nic has come to Randfontein 19 days early to give preschoolers a gift.

On the morning of Friday 5 November, Father Christmas visited Heidi and Peter Preschool.

Children were overjoyed at the sight of this long-bearded man dressed in red while riding a horse.

Mr. Claus then went to sit in the children’s play room and there he handed out gifts to the preschool children. Big smiles were seen as the children walked up to sit on Mr. Claus’ lap to take a picture and to receive their gifts.

A little girl was so overwhelmed by the moment that she bust into tears – she received her gift later when her eyes dried.

After the preschoolers received their gifts, they were in for another surprise as a pony waited for the children outside for a ride. The ponies had little Christmas hats on their heads to add to the novelty of the day.

Fear was seen across the face of a few boys and girls alike when they were lifted on to the saddle.

“Am I going to fall?” a little boy said in complete terror but later did not want to get off the pony as he got the hang of it.

Many children were thrilled at their ride on the pony and at the end of their respective rides, they petted the ponies gently, and said thank you.

Leah Cochrane was the first girl to get on the pony for a ride.
