RPA ends the year 2014 with Chinese Braai

RPA goes big one last time before 2015; and also extends its best wishes to its members.

Businessmen and women alike were seen together probably for the last time this year as the Randfontein Publicity Association (RPA) held its end of year party.

The event is usually held on the third Thursday of every month but this time, it was held on Friday 22 November to allow a little bit more of an indulgence in the cash bar, venue and food without the morning-after repercussions thereof at work.

This RPA meeting was hosted by Clan Doyle’s Cheryl and Jimmy Doyle. With using their distinguished venue came a price for members and guests alike. A donation of non-perishable food, clothing, dog food or a lucky draw could get one into the event. The proceed thereof is to be given to charity.

Nothing more than 30 seconds were given to members and guests to introduce themselves or rather market their respective businesses before moving to the business of the meeting. Naturally the main topic of address was the annual Randfontein Show to which members and guests were brought up to speed with its latest developments.

Next on the agenda was the new RPA calendar and on it, the advertisements of its members as well as non-members. The RPA also extended its best wishes to its members for the festive season and new year.

It wasn’t long before guests could help themselves to the food that remained hidden up until the announcement was made. The theme of the night was like no other – a Chinese braai. Guests helped themselves to what seemed like endless amounts of food to put on braai woks that could either be looked after by one of Clan Doyle’s talented chefs or by oneself if one so wished.

The event proved to be an excellent networking opportunity as there was chatter and business cards exchanged in what seemed to an otherwise close-knit family of Randfontein businesses.
