School treats the mentally disabled to sing-a-long

'This is to spoil them a bit' — principal

The Cornerstone Christian School Randfontein ended the year on a high with a concert for the Connie Mulder Centre for the mentally disabled on Thursday (13 November).

The theme of the concert, performed by the pupils of the school was always to have a dream for the future.

Little Ayanda Khumalo, 3, stole the limelight as she opened proceedings with the national anthem, Nkosi sikelel’ iAfrika.

Pupils also performed We are the world and I have a dream. Concert goers all enjoyed the performances very much and even joined in the dancing and singing.

“We always hold Connie Mulder and the beautiful people who work and help out at the centre very close to our hearts. This was to spoil them a bit,” Metsie Kruger, principal of Cornerstone said.

After the show everyone received a thank-you parcel with a cold drink and something sweet to eat.
