Anyone for some Christmas Cake?

Lions Club Christmas Cakes for purchase to sweeten the tooth this festive season.

The core belief shared by everyone from the Lions Club is: “Community is what we make it”.

Their 46 000 clubs and 1,35 million members not only make them the world’s largest service club organization but also one of the most effective. The members of the Lions Club do whatever is needed to help their local communities and in Randfontein it is no different.

Since 1975 Lions Clubs throughout Southern Africa have been selling Lions Christmas Cakes to fund local projects in the community.

Projects include Vision programs, hearing projects, Diabetes awareness and education, feeding schemes, assistance to senior citizens and many more.

Locally you can help by supporting the Lions Club by purchasing a Lions Club Christmas Cake for only R75 each. Annually the club sells about a 100 cases per year, but are hoping that through the help of the community they can get that figure much higher.

When you support the Lions club, you join a global service network so while supporting your local community you also help the club with their global volunteer efforts around the world.

If you want to know more about the club or their projects you can go onto their website www.lionsclub.org or you can contact Ivan du Plooy on 083 704 2855 for more details.

Cakes are also for sale at the Randfontein herald office in Greenhills.
