Business relations continue

‘Networking is about making connections and building relationships’ — RPA.

New relationships were formed at the Randfontein Publicity Association’s (RPA) October networking session.

The session was held at the Vodacom Shop at Village Square Mall.

Joy Hamann, spokesperson for the RPA says, “Each month we ask a different member to host the function, normally at their company premises.

“This gives the businessman or woman an opportunity to showcase their business. Members provide the snacks and drinks and we bring the people.”

Again many attended and enjoyed snacks and drinks while networking with fellow business owners and managers.

There were more lucky draws than usual and several members walked away with cellphones and cellphone accessories.

Five pairs of tickets to the Robbie Wessels concert at Key West also were up for grabs. Everyone also received an 8GB flash drive from Vodacom’s Head Office representative, Blayne Thorne who also attended the function.

“We had a very good turnout and approximately 70 people attended. Each member was given the opportunity to introduce themselves to the group and tell about their business.

“We encourage loyalty amongst members and it’s great to see how they network with one another at these functions. Networking is about making connections and building enduring, mutually beneficial relationships. I always tell members that networking is not about who you know, but who knows you.”

Some of the feedback from members:

“It was a well-organised function and I am exited seeing the RPA membership base growing. Thank you for what you do in our little town of Randfontein,” says Sandra Grobler of the West Rand Pest Control.

“Thanks for an excellent evening. I have great appreciation for what you do,” says Tewie Botha of Oribi Manpower Development.

“Awesome is all I can say. I enjoyed it all. Thanks for an excellent organisation,” says Mapule Masetle of the Shared Victory Centre.
