Sandstorm takes everyone by surprise
Phenomenon is the result of strong winds and dry conditions.
It started out as an ordinary October afternoon but suddenly, a brown cloud filled the sky.
Late Thursday afternoon a sandstorm struck the west Rand.
The sand storm is ascribed to powerful winds together with dry conditions in the province.
People went crazy on social media about the rather strange occurrence one doesn’t see every day.
Tanya from Westonaria tweeted, “Naby Westonaria, dis verskriklik” where user MaraaiQii tweeted, “OMG sand storm in Randfontein”.
