Miss Pre-Teen Gauteng

Jasmine Petersen, 12, will spread her wings in Cape Town.

12-year-old Jasmine Petersen, a Grade 7 pupil from Toekomsrus Primary School stole the spotlight when she recently took the Miss Pre-Teen Gauteng title.

According to her Miss Gauteng was her first big beauty competition and although she was nervous at first, she soon found her way on the stage.

On 11 October beauty queens from all over Gauteng went to Edenvale to compete in this prestigious competition.

“It was a lot of fun taking part in such a prestigious beauty pageant. The nerves got to me, but in the end I was able to give my absolute best,” says Jasmine.

She adds that she was very surprised when they announced her as the new Miss Pre-Teen Gauteng.

“I will use this prestigious title to uplift the community of Toekomsrus,” says Jasmine.

“I will be involved in various charity events in and around Toekomsrus as I want to show my community I am worthy of wearing the Miss Pre-Teen Gauteng sash.”

Jasmine will represent Gauteng during the Miss Mzanzi Africa beauty competition in December in Cape Town.

She thanks her friends and family for their support during the Miss Gauteng competition.

“I also want to thank my coach, Samantha Carelse for her help and dedication to us as local beauty queens. Without your help I would not have been able to win this title,” says Jasmine.
