Randfontein Show bigger in 2015

Event next year over five days, not just four – a first time in 29 years.

Organisers of the Randfontein Show have added an extra day to next year’s event, bringing the total number of days filled with excitement to five.

The Randfontein Publicity Association Directors decided this when they met recently to discuss gate entrance fees, entertainment and logistics.

Joy Hamann spokesperson of the RPA confirms, “2015 will be the 29th Randfontein Show. For the past 28 years it was held over four days, but it has been decided to extend it to five days for next year’s show.”

Described as the most popular, business and social extravaganza on the West Rand, the 2015 Randfontein Show will take place from Wednesday 4 March to Sunday 8 March at the Greenhills Sport Stadium.

“We have received a lot of positive feedback about extending the show to the Sunday. Many parents work on a Saturday and children have sporting commitments so it’s not always possible for the whole family to visit the show together,” says show coordinator Marcelle Mans.

“Trading on the Sunday too also allows visitors from beyond the West Rand borders to attend,” says Mans.

Hamann adds, “Proceedings on the Sunday will kick start with a gospel event followed by two popular performers”.

The theme for next year’s show is ‘Hats’. So far the entertainment line-up includes The Parlotones, Elvis Blue, Blackbyrd, Juanita du Plessis, Karlien van Jaarsveld, Nicholis Louw, Robbie Wessels, Manie Jackson, Heuning and Morgan BeatBox.

Other live entertainment and special events will be announced soon.
