Man and father-in-law hijacked in Wheatlands

No suspects have been arrested yet — police

Police is yet to make arrests after a man and his father-in-law were pulled over and hijacked.

According to Randfontein Police spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst, “The man and his father-in-law, 48, were travelling in Wheatlands when the suspects came up behind them, flashing lights at them.

“They then pulled over to the side of the road and that’s when the suspects approached the victims on foot. They forced the man and his father-in-law out of the car and then into their own vehicle.

“Both cars then drove to Carletonville and that’s where the man and his father-in-law were ditched,” says Ernst who adds that the suspects then took off in their own getaway vehicle and the hijacked car.

Fortunately, both victims did not sustain any serious injuries.

The hijacked vehicle later was recovered in Ennerdale; however no suspects have been arrested.
