E-tolls to be discussed in Randfontein

Road users get the opportunity to air their views on impacts of the controversial system.

The public is urged to attend an e-toll meeting to be held at the IEC within the Randfontein municipal building on Wednesday, 10 September.

There, road users will air their views on impacts of the controversial system.According to a statement received, the meeting will be held at 3pm and residents are urged to say their bit where the e-tolls in Gauteng are concerned. While this may be, it goes without saying that the system has been rejected by motorists throughout Gauteng who went as far as staging protest actions in the province’s freeways previously.

This led to the Gauteng Premier David Makhura having to appoint an advisory panel in July to conduct a socio-economic impact assessment of the e-tolls which is expected to submit its report by the end of November 2014.

The herald will be attending the meeting.
