Herald journalist takes on Ice Bucket Challenge

'It was so cold, my nose started to bleed'

It wasn’t pretty, cold yes of course, but for a good cause. On Friday 5 September Randfontein herald journalist Wayne Kruger joined the rest of the world in taking on the Ice Bucket Challenge for awareness. The Ice Bucket Challenge is known as an activity  which involves dumping a bucket of ice water on someone’s head to promote awareness of the disease Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and encourage donations to research. It’s said that the challenge so far has reached more than a million dollars. Just like everyone else, Kruger had to nominate three others. He decided to pick four namely his editor; a pastor; principal of a local school and friend. Kruger added after the challenge that “It was so cold, my nose started to bleed.” Are you brave enough?
