Issues at Toekomsrus SAPS something of the past?

Minister of Police was informed wrongfully about the police station not being open and fully operational.

Toekomsrus resident and Member of Parliament (MP) Jacque Julius ruffled some feathers in Cape Town recently regarding the Toekomsrus Police Station.

Julius of the Democratic Alliance took on the Minister of Police, Nkosinathi Nhleko in parliament last week with regard to the police station.

“I posed the question to the minister with regard to the Toekomsrus Police Station that is not fully operational. In his reply, it was obvious that he was informed wrongfully that this police station is always open and fully operational, but that is not the case. However, he has committed himself to looking into this problem urgently,” says Julius.

He continued, “It brings me joy that Toekomsrus residents now can look forward to reporting their cases and our senior citizens no longer will have to go to town just for an affidavit.

“They again can feel safe in their community and that is exactly what I want to see and the DA will ensure that adequate services are rendered to them,” says Julius who adds that the police station has had problems for years and that its high time that something is done about this.
